Born Balatripurasundari on 16 June 1987 in Razole, Andhra Pradesh, India, Anjali is an award winning Indian film actress and model, who transcendently shows up in both Tamil and Telugu movies. After modelling for some time, she was cast in featuring parts in two Telugu movies; her début film was the Telugu film Photo, which hit the screens in 2006, after this she acted in the movie Kattradhu Thamizh (2007), for which she got the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutante. In 2010 and 2011, she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil, for her performances in Angaadi Theru and Engaeyum Eppothum, accordingly getting to be distinctly perceived as one of the “finest youthful on-screen characters” in Tamil cinema, and noted for generally playing “performance oriented parts”.
