Vijayakanth born Vijayaraj Azhagar Swami Naidu on 25 August 1952 at Madurai, TamilNadu is a Tamil actor and politician. He was the Leader of the Opposition of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Prior to becoming a politician, he was also a film actor in Tamil cinema. He is married to Premalatha and this couple has two sons namely Vijay Prabhakar and Shanmuga Pandian. Some of his various awards are; FilmFare best actor award, Tamil Nadu state film award for best actor, Kalaimamani award from the state of Tamil Nadu, Best citizen award, Cinema express best actor award, honorary doctorate etc.
