Vadivelu Born on 10 October 1960 in a villiage in Madurai is an Indian film actor, comedian and playback singer. Since the 1990s, he performed supporting roles as a comedian in Tamil films and is renowned for his slapstick comedies. Vadivelu is married to Sarojini. They have been married for more than two decades. His wife Sarojini comes from a simple background and used to work as a teacher earlier in her life teaching primary school and kindergarden kids. The couple have two sons Subramaniam, Manoj and a daughter named Kavya. Vadivelu shares a special bond with his wife and brings her on every first day of the films he is shooting. While having worked in over 200 films, Vadivelu received awards in the Best Comedian category for his performances in many films. His popularity led to his media-coined nickname, Vaigai Puyal, meaning the storm from the Vaigai River which flows through his hometown Madurai.
